Government-union negotiations: A fruitful foundation

The work of the first ordinary session of the National Consultative Commission, consultation and collective bargaining, editing 2021 ended, Friday 1^is last October in the grounds of the Social Training Institute, economic and civic (L’INFOSEC), from Cotonou. A l’issue, several grievances have been resolved.

It took several days for the participants in these negotiations to find a consensus.. In front of the assembly, Minister of State Abdoulaye Bio Tchané, returned to the topics on the agenda for this meeting. Diligence carried out as part of the preparation for the start of the new school year 2021-2022, examination of workers' grievances received on the occasion of Labor Day, le 1er mai, and the various questions are so many subjects which furnished the discussions during these days of negotiations. Days of negotiations which, moreover, have proved fruitful in view of the conclusions of the Minister of State who is delighted.

The meetings have borne fruit

One of the positive points of these meetings in the nursery and primary education sector, reports the payment of re-entry bonuses, the amount of 4.521.528.600 FCFA, for the benefit of teachers, the provision of a quarter of the grants to schools, Promotion 513 teachers, as school principals.

At the level of the secondary education sector, technical and vocational training, we also note the transfer of re-entry bonuses, the appointment of administrative managers of public establishments, stabilization of the database of Aspirants to the teaching profession (AME), retaining those who have worked, on behalf of the past year, and taking into account those not yet registered in the database.

 Regarding higher education, the participants were delighted with the organization, welcoming and guiding new baccalaureate holders through the development of the apresmonbac.bj platform, which has enabled a good number of students to choose their courses of study.

Regarding workers' grievances, "Payment of reminders to primary and secondary school teachers, providing health facilities with adequate equipment to enable healthcare staff to protect themselves effectively against Covid-19, strengthening the technical platform of many health facilities, providing health facilities with drugs, materials, essential consumables and drugs ", said Minister of State Abdoulaye Bio Tchané.

Soon the raising of the minimum wage

The government also discussed with its social partners in the private sector the prioritization of wages., in accordance with the bearing, in 2004, the ceiling of the guaranteed minimum interprofessional salary (CHIN) and raising the current minimum wage. In his final word, Abdoulaye Bio Tchané reassured each participant that these grievances will be studied very soon in an extraordinary session.
