Beninese professional footballers will taste the joys of being named the best FIFA FIFPRO WORLD11 player. This is indicated in a press release from the National Union of Professional Footballers of Benin (UNFPB). A participation which gives relief to the fundamental work carried out by the very young union of Beninese players.
This first is duly welcomed by the National Union of Professional Footballers of Benin. “We are pleased to announce that for the first time in the history of Beninese football, professional footballers will participate in the prestigious FIFA FIFPRO World11 vote” rejoiced Romuald Boco, President of the UNFPB in a press release made public this 30 August 2023. The representatives of 16 clubs that have played in the Pro Super League 2022-2023 (Is 25 team players) and the six women's clubs which participated in the Play-offs last season are participating in the vote, (is 20 players by women's club).
Seeing Beninese footballers participate in FIFA FIFPRO WORLD11 is a long-term work carried out in the shadows by the UNFPB. However, the crucible of players does not intend to claim its authorship alone. It is the fruit of all the players in Beninese football, in this case the government which constantly supports the development of professional football. "This unwavering support has played a crucial role in the realization of this historic participation" mentions the president of the National Union of Professional Footballers of Benin. As well, the commitment of the federation and the professional football league of Benin is not obscured by Romuald Boco. "Their hard work and dedication have raised the level of national football to provide new opportunities for players," he concludes..
The players' union feels proud of this "significant step forward" for Beninese football while hoping that this participation of footballers in FIFA FIFPRO World11 will strengthen "the visibility and recognition of Beninese talent on the international scene".. It should be noted according to a member of the National Union of Professional Footballers of Benin that the number of voters may vary depending on the format of the Beninese championship. This participation of Beninese players and club managers in FIFA FIFPRO WORLD11 is life-size proof that the professional footballers' union is a weapon for the development and influence of Beninese football and not what a few birds of ill omen think.
