The commune of Adjohoun located in the Ouémé Valley is preparing to shelter from Monday 24 Saturday 29 June 2024 a large-scale football competition. This is the first edition of the International Valley Tournament (TIV 2024). For about a week, the Omnisports stadium of the host city will vibrate to the rhythm of youth football under 20 years.
A total of twelve (12) training centers from five (05) country to know : The Benin, and Togo, the Ghana, Nigeria and Ivory Coast take part in this competition. « En initiant ce tournoi, we are keen to fill a void. Overall in the sphere of national football, we see that at each moment of the transfer window, there is the cruel absence of transfers from young Beninese footballers. At the same time, you notice that in the countries of the sub-region, things are moving particularly in other countries like Ivory Coast, nigeria, the Ghana, le Burkina Faso et autres. Dans ces pays, young people are exporting very quickly and will land very good contracts in Europe. And we asked ourselves the question of knowing what are the difficulties which mean that in Benin, it does not work ? So it started from this observation, we thought about organizing such a competition with our relations to be able to try to fill this void” confided Michel Essèkpagnon, Country Director of Green Stars Sports Management International Group and Chairman of the Tournament Organizing Committee.
