Steve-Warren Traoré, the new pick of Beninese coach Gernot Rohr : “I want to wet the jersey for the nation and that is the most important thing for me”.

What are your first impressions after publishing the list? ?

First of all, I would like to thank the coach for putting me on the list of 26 players. I am very very happy. I can't wait to meet everyone, the members of the staff, my new teammates. It's not given to everyone. Frankly, It’s a dream come true and I can’t wait to play for this great nation..

What are your links with Benin and what militated in favor of this choice to play for this country? ?

My mother is Beninese and my grandfather too, whose name is Emmanuel SAYI. Rest in peace ! I made this choice to play for Benin because it was my heart that spoke. It was in the back of my mind since I signed Pro. I then spoke at length with my family and the decision was made. I want to pay a beautiful tribute to my late grandfather ( Emmanuel SAYI) that I didn't know. I want, from where he is, he be proud of me.

What do you plan to bring to the Benin national team? ?

I would like to add something more, show what I can do on the field. I want to wet the jersey for the nation and that is the most important thing for me.

How does it work in the club? ? Apparently you are more comfortable on the sides… What about ?

For my part, I feel quite comfortable at Lokomotiv Sofia ( D1/Bulgaria). President, the staff, the coach… they love me a lot. They put me in the best conditions so that I could thrive on and off the field too..
I am more comfortable as a left winger. I also like playing on the right. I can also play the position of striker or second striker.

A word for the Beninese public ?

I hope to meet the Beninese public as quickly as possible. If we wet our swimsuit, it's for them, it’s for a whole nation. I'm eager to. I'm looking forward to it and I hope it happens as quickly as possible.. Thank you.
