Social Watch Bénin: A new mandate for Blanche Sonon

The Ordinary and Elective General Assembly of Social Watch Benin took place, the past week in Cotonou. At the end of the work of the 12^th General assembly, Blanche Sonon succeeds herself as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

48 voice for, 0  against and 0 abstention. This is the result of the ballot boxes which allowed Blanche Sonon, representing the NGO Wildaf Benin to serve a second term at the head of the Board of Directors of Social Watch Benin. Victor Gbèdo of the NGO Dcam Bethesda was also confirmed as vice-president by 48 voice for, 0 against and 0 abstention. Likewise, the General Assembly appointed the Control Committee during this statutory meeting.

Elected for the second time in a row, the Chairman of the Board of Directors Blanche Sonon did not fail to appreciate the support the team received during its first mandate. “Social Watch Benin can congratulate itself today on having strengthened, thanks to the support of its partners, the participation of its member organizations in the budget process and monitoring of budget execution at national levels, sectoral and local”, she said before suggesting that advocacy actions for the development of child-sensitive budgets and gender-sensitive budgets and wholesale with a view to increasing speeches in favor of basic social services have been organized.

Note that during this Assembly that the moral reports, technique, financial statements were presented by the outgoing team and adopted as well as the annual 2021.
