Following stop N ° 120/20 of 11 August 2020 of the Cotonou Court of Appeal, on the evacuation of the Tankpè and Agori-Finafa area by the occupants, the collective of victim buyers met, Saturday 3 July 2021, at the School Complex the Geniuses of Tankpè. On the menu for this meeting, exchanges between the office of the said collective and members of the Tankpè Development Association, but also with the buyers of plots in the area concerned, in order to find ways and means to thwart the decision.
Faced with the decision of the Cotonou Court of Appeal, the reaction of buyers was not long in coming. Arrangements have been made, and resulted in the establishment of a collective headed by an office. At the discussion meeting last Saturday with members of the Local Development Association and the buyers concerned, the president of the collective took stock of the steps taken. According to Sylvain Hodonou, following notification of the decision, the victim buyers took action "to study the situation and look for ways and means to put in place to thwart the decision". A correspondence to, thereby, was addressed to the Mayor of Abomey Calavi, in order to bring him the information. The opportunity was taken to send a request for a hearing to the municipal authority, the 2 last july, "In order to explain to him in person, the whole situation of the neighborhood ". The Mayor's reaction is eagerly awaited by the buyers, the president said.. According to his explanations, a census has been taken of the buyers of the plots in the area concerned. The costs generated by the related procedures were covered by the contributions made by each member of the office.. The meeting allowed each participant, to bring a grain of salt, with a view to a successful outcome of the procedures. A are terme, the president of the collective Sylvain Hodonou welcomed the active participation of the buyers and praised the great availability and the frank collaboration of the members of the development association.
As a reminder, it is by decision judgment No. 120/20 of 11 August 2020, that the Cotonou Court of Appeal gives orders to the occupants of the plots located in the area of Tankpè and Agori Finafa in the municipality of Abomey-Calavi, having, in the thirties (30) days for any delay to : either buy back the plots they occupy or failing that, get away, make free, empty, evacuate so many of their people, of their property as well as of all occupants of their own, said plots. A case to follow therefore !!!
