SARC : A vocation for abandoned children

For years, the NGO Cries of love of the Servants of the Redemptive Love of Christ (SARC) accompanies abandoned and orphaned children. This vocation took shape in Djrèrègbé, district of Sèmè-Podji. Guided by the love of the Lord Jesus Christ, SARC again honored, Like he usually does, in December 2021, this noble commitment to these vulnerable and neglected people.

“So let the little children come to me, do not prevent them” said Jesus in Mark 10:14. Better He taught that whenever we do good to the sick, destitute and orphans it is to Him that people do it, (Matthieu 25:40). These words, the Sisters of the NGO SARC have meditated on it and use it as a guideline for their actions in society. More than 200 children, fatherless, mother or both parents took part in a festive and recreational day organized on 27 last december. The day was marked by moments of songs, artistic performances, ballets and dance competitions and above all an agape. Whether they are Christians, Muslims or from endogenous religions, these children spent a day of communion in love and fraternity. To finish, they each left with a cloth. Moment of a day, these children are nurtured by the love of Christ the Redeemer thanks to the affection of the serving sisters.

A party ruined by Covid-19

Even if the barrier measures have been eased by the government in recent days, Covid-19 has affected publishing 2021 of the Christmas party for orphans of the NGO SARC. According to Sister Denise Zinsou, the means were lacking for a good organization because donors failed to respond.. “Contrary to last year and our forecasts, there were more children than expected. It upset our plans. Consequences, not all children received gifts. That's what made our joy not total. But we give thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ because everything he does is good,” she confided with a slightly content smile.. Despite these difficulties, children, present, ate, sung, danced and left, each, with fabric. "These children often have no one to sew them a new suit and on the holidays, they are different from others most of the time. So we opted for the fabric so that they keep a memory of the party of 2021. Better, very often, toys only last for the holidays while fabric can go way beyond that. Every time they put it, they are going to think about Christmas 2021,” said Sister Marcelle Chéhouenou..

Should it be specified, it is not only on the occasion of the end of year celebrations that the children require the attention of the religious sisters. They are under the supervision of the SARC team, enrolled in school or initiated into crafts depending on the case. The ambition of this directed organization being to achieve an inclusive society in which, children, whatever their social and family situation live in joy, brotherhood and love.
