By this request, Boni Yayi informs that he has invited the community to launch a mission to Benin to inquire about the institutional framework put in place by President Talon in the run-up to the general elections of 2026.
“I informed this international community that this framework is not inclusive due to the absence of opposition representatives in the bodies responsible for organizing the next municipal elections, municipal, legislative and presidential elections in almost 2 years. After 2016, Benin has never managed to organize inclusive elections, transparent, fair and peaceful. This meeting will undoubtedly allow President Patrice Talon to dispel the fears of the Democratic Party regarding the reliability of the electoral list in order to have transparent elections.. otherwise, the first vice-president Eric Houndété in addition to 2 or 3 other members of the LD political bureau will also be there.
