West Africa region of La Catt: Ferdinand Sounou officially installed

Elected last June by his peers, Beninese, Ferdinand Sounou has been installed as President of the West Africa Region of the African Table Tennis Confederation (Catt). A ceremony that took place in Yaoundé (Cameroon). This on the occasion of the 24th African table tennis championships for men and women which took place in Yaoundé (Cameroon).

Pragmatic and rigorous in the work, Ferdinand Sounou, at the head of this important region 15 Nations (The Benin, and Togo, nigeria, the Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Niger, the Ghana, the Ivory Coast, the Senegal, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry, the Senegal, The Mali, Sierra Leone and Liberia m), promises to revive table tennis through the regular organization of competitions that can raise the level of table tennis players. "Everything we do in Benin in terms of competition bringing together the former countries of the area 3, we communicate a lot about this competition at regional level, continental and global. We give more visibility to what we do in Benin. All this militated in the balance for Benin to be honored as president of the West African Table Tennis Region ”, entrusted President Ferdinand Sounou.

 Regarding the first actions, it will be question for the president of the Fbtt to compose the complete office which will quickly get to work. "Already, I am in talks with Nigeria for the establishment of the office, and also with Ghana. I think in the days to come, the office will be known and the report will be made to the Catt on its composition. From now on, we are going to put our work plan in place ”, he advanced.

Note that in these games, Akadiri Ziadath, holder of the title of champion of Benin was eliminated in the first. On the other hand in the veterans tournament, Benin returned to the fold with a bronze medal. This, thanks to Ferdinand Sounou, President of the Benin Table Tennis Federation (Fbtt). Without complexes, he defended the national colors as he should and fell arms in hand in the semi-finals but was able to clinch the victory in the classification match, synonymous with 3rd place and bronze medal.
