Presidential 2021 : The Kohoué-Agossa duo condemn the radical opposition

The day after the proclamation of the provisional results by the Autonomous National Electoral Commission (PRICE) which announces the knockout of candidate Patrice Talon, Corentin Kohoué and Irénée Agossa of Restaurer La Confiance held a press briefing on Wednesday 14 avril 2021 at their campaign headquarters. In their statement, the duo not only condemned the radical opposition for this record abstention but also greeted their two challengers and especially sent their congratulations to the Talon-Talata duo for their victory.

They did not wait for the final verdict of the Constitutional Court before acknowledging their defeat even if they say they are surprised by the figures announced by the National Autonomous Electoral Commission. “We all followed the proclamation by the CENA, major trends in the election. We note our surprise at these figures in view of the irregularities noted by the observations of civil society.. We take note as a force of the opposition and draw the necessary lessons” declared Corentin Kohoué while thanking the elections which focused on the duo of Restoring Confidence.  “We salute the voters who had confidence in voting for the RLC dynamic, despite the recent birth of our approach and an application that was only definitively acquired barely two months ago after obtaining the sponsorships”.

To believe it, it remains a duo of astonishment "Even if our political background and our convictions both come from afar, this presence in the presidential election of 11 April was not predictable”, he confided. And while waiting to take up a more convincing challenge for the happiness of its activists during the next deadlines, he sends the congratulations of Restoring La Confiance to the Talon-Talata duo, winner by K.O of the presidential election of 11 avril 2021. “We salute the other two duo for the fight and the trust placed in them. We congratulate the Talon-Talata duo who came out on top in this election.”, he asserted.

otherwise, he admits that the abstention rate is very high. What he says "has not made it possible to begin the great project of restoring confidence in our country. The people did not come out in large numbers to vote, in particular the people of the opposition who shunned the ballot box, either because hunted by fear or ambient psychosis, either because demotivated by the supporters of the boycott or weakened by the stiffness of a power that inspires neither confidence nor democratic enthusiasm in them”. For Corentin Kohoue, it is the people who made their choice "by opting for abstention and therefore a form of continuity".  The culprit of this failure of the opposition is no longer to be sought underlines for his part Iréné Agossa. It is, according to him, the radical opposition.  “It is the stiffness of the friends of the opposition which favored the return of Patrice Talon to power”, he indicated. Deploring the pre-election violence, he promised that his duo will continue the fight for the restoration of confidence and dialogue in the country. “We do not agree that we come to count the dead at home. We will make sure that dialogue is possible”, he concludes.
