African Women Leaders Network, Benin chapter (Awln-Benin) distinguished, in the afternoon of this 24 June 2021, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Eleanor Yayi Ladekan. This recognition follows her glowing career as a fighter, both academically and politically.

Salute self-sacrifice, the brilliant and laudatory journey of Minister Éléonore Yayi Ladékan. This is the objective of the trip of the Network of African Women Leaders, Benin chapter (Awln-Benin) in the office of the Minister of Higher Education. The delegation led by President Huguette Akplogan Dossa went to congratulate the Minister in person for her leadership and her brilliant career as a fighter, both academically and politically.

For Huguette Akplogan Dossa, Minister Éléonore Yayi Ladékan has all the qualities required to serve as a model and example to the young generation, especially that of the caucus of the Network of African Women Leaders. On this occasion, they took the opportunity to discuss the different areas of intervention of the network and seek its technical support, to support the Network's agenda for the emancipation of women.

The minister, very happy said she was very honored to be identified as a woman who can be trusted and sent on a mission. "I understood the mission and I am committed with AWLN to lead the fight to reassure women and girls that they have great potential and that the country is waiting for them", I have relationships with girls but I also have my boyfriend who may not know it but it is not important. «(…) Ensemble, we will be determined to produce results by sharing experiences with the younger generation and carrying out several projects”, she added. To believe it, this will include the fight against sexual harassment and the proliferation of fat women in schools and universities, training on political participation and female leadership, support for women income generators in micro-finance, etc. “I receive this coronation with a lot of emotion and a lot of responsibility too”, concluded the happy hour.

As a reminder, the Network of African Women Leaders has been established in Benin since 2020 and aims to create across the continent, a force of women leaders who effectively contribute to the transformation of Africa, in line with the Agenda 2063 for Africa and the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030.
