The diagnostic assessment established on behalf of the tourism sector concluded that Benin has numerous tourism resources which could offer it interesting development prospects.. However, insufficient development of tourism potential, the low quality of tourist equipment and services and the absence of access infrastructure to tourist sites constitute major obstacles to the development of tourism in our country. These socio-economic constraints prevent the development of the localities which shelter the said sites and the reduction of unemployment in these localities. With a view to resolving these problems and injecting new dynamism into the local development program, particular emphasis was placed on the sector in the PAG 2016-2021 with the start of several projects.
