Read the following text carefully and show that you understand it by :

– situating the text ;

– finding synonymous and homonym words ;

– finding answers to questions about the text ;

– manipulating language functions used in the text.

Text: The leisures

I am twelve years old and I live in Madrid. I go to school by bus, although sometimes I walk back to accompany a friend and chat with them along the way. I do judo three times a week. I like the TV, especially The Simpsons. What I like to read the most is Harry Potter, Tintin and Super Lopez. My parents insist that I read because they think it is good. And it's good! A year ago they gave me a small television for my room.. I thought it was a good idea. I could lie in bed and watch whatever I wanted., or connect the play and play there with it. One night I fell asleep with the TV on. But, After a few months I decided to remove it from my bedroom.. I prefer to watch TV in the living room and with company because it is more fun. You can comment on what you see and if it is something funny, you laugh more because others have a good time too. I also prefer to play there. It is a more open place, with more light, and although I can't do it when the adults want to watch television, I don't mind. When do I like to be in my room? when I want to think, read or play The Sims on my computer (although I do it very occasionally). To have fun I prefer my mother's living room or study., where can I surf the internet. The websites that interest me the most are gaming ones.. When I meet my friends, I prefer that we go to the street, to play football or basketball. I have a friend who spends all his time in his room.. I think he does it to isolate himself from the world., because there he feels adult, the boss of his life. But I have my family and I don't need to feel isolated..
