Niger : The year one of President Bazoum under the magnifying glass of the African media

At the invitation of the Presidency of the Republic of Niger, seventeen journalists, of 16 media outlets from several ECOWAS countries (Benign, Mali, Ivory Coast, Togo, Senegal, Guinea…) have been staying since 04 June 2022 in the Nigerien capital, Niamey.

Influential Minister of Issoufou government during his two terms, Mohamed Bazoum succeeds the 2 avril 2021 to the former president of the PNDS Tarayya. Described as an open man, listening, President Bazoum seduced during this first year of exercise of the supreme power the Nigeriens by its social management.

In contact with the people, it has set up a framework for regular exchange with all the players in the social chain. The former Minister of the Interior and then of Foreign Affairs elected in 2021 with more than 55% of votes cast has based its political program on six areas of governance, namely: Security; the politician; legal and judicial; Economy; administration and local development.

To succeed in this ambitious program of act three of the Renaissance of Niger, a forecast of 13 800 billion CFA francs was made by candidate Bazoum, now president.

And it is rightly that a year after his accession to the supreme magistracy, the government of President Bazoum brings the African press to Niamey to see firsthand for five days the impact of his first year of management on the daily lives of Nigeriens.
