Mystery in Ouidah : The lucky tree splits

The auction place (town of Ouidah) having played a big role during the slave trade is once again in the spotlight on the religious and tourist levels in Benin, country of King Béhanzin. Indeed, the fetish tree located at Chacha square in front of Souza’s family home split in two without the slightest bad weather.

There was no rain, nor violent wind, nor rumble of thunder but this windfall, now historic fact, happened on Sunday 2 June 2024 around 10 p.m.. It should be remembered that one of the twin parts of the tree split in two, faces the sea while the second is positioned towards the North of the country. According to leaders of endogenous cults, these two geographical positions indicated by each fallen portion of the tree are highly significant.

In order to know the spiritual interpretation, a college of FÂ priests was commissioned then the consultation of the Oracle carried out on the afternoon of Tuesday 4 June 2024 revealed the LOSSO MÈDJI sign. According to one of the FÂ loans questioned, the place, previously, served as a sacred place commonly called SATO in the Fon language where several rituals and sacred dances were organized.

But since the renovation of this place by the Beninese State, there was not the slightest sacred dance in this place and LOSSO MÈDJI, sign of fire originally referring to the divinity HEVIOSSO, comes to inform about the discontent of the gods, their revolt against the disinterestedness towards them. The gods would therefore ask that justice be done so that traditional ceremonies formally resume in this place. LOSSO MÈDJI is a furious sign, who defends his interests against all odds even if he has to make enemies. The days to come will educate us further on what to do with this fetish tree..
