Mohamed Bachir Aboudou, president of CNSS SPORT SA : “The hardest part now, it’s about maintaining this dynamic”

Some thought he was too ambitious a few years ago. But time ended up proving him right. With this second place in 45^th African Champion Clubs Championship, Flowers CNSS has effectively written the history of the Beninese handball revolution. Mohamed Bachir Aboudou, CEO of the sports company of the National Social Security Fund called CNSS SPORT SA, now “the prophet” more than proud of this won bet reveals here the secret of such a journey. With this level reached, we could now say that the Management Department of Flowers CNSS has found the ideal solution to rise even higher on the continental chessboard. ?

Under the CNSS era, the Flowers team took part in the 38^th edition of the African championship of cup-winning clubs which took place in Niamey from 10 at 19 May 2022 and at the 43rd African championship of champion clubs which took place in Tunis 27 at 10 October 2022. Our participation in these two (02) competitions highlighted our sporting limitations, on a technical and medical level. In order to achieve performance objectives, strong measures have been taken, especially : uncompromising renewal of the workforce to root out non-competitive athletes or those who no longer have room for improvement; the recruitment of national and foreign players with the ambition of building a very competitive team within a period of three (03) years ; a reorganization of the technical staff with clearly defined objectives.

This new management was accepted by all stakeholders and today you see the results. We were crowned Benin champions for both men and women this year.. The icing on the cake, this is our second place among men at the 45th African Champions Club Championship in Morocco. So you understand that there are not a thousand ways to improve our performance, it’s about establishing a good organization, then work with discipline and rigor. To finish, I can therefore say without risk of being mistaken that the management direction of Flowers has found the solution to rise and maintain itself at the highest level on the national and continental stage..

What does it feel like to be the standard bearer club of the Beninese handball revolution? ?

I am simply happy for our players and members of the technical staff. They understood the projected vision and everyone played their part.. The hardest now, is to maintain this dynamic.

What is the secret of CNSS Sport in Handball

In sport and particularly in handball, there is no miracle recipe to achieve the level of performance recognized today by everyone, it’s daily work in a conducive environment. Our role was to create an ideal framework for the development of our athletes before they can give the best of themselves. This is therefore an opportunity for me to thank the CNSS Authorities for their support by providing the necessary means..

What will be the surprise in store for your training when it returns? ?

Smile, It won't be a surprise anymore if I tell you. A deserved welcome worthy of this history written in Beninese handball will be reserved for the entire delegation on their return.

A message to the different actors

Sport has never received such special attention in our country. I can only therefore invite all stakeholders to work healthily towards achieving the objectives. In fine, it is to raise our country into the concert of nations in terms of sport.
