Bad conditions of detention of Madougou and Aïvo : Soglo and Yayi raise their voices

National political news is marked by the conditions of detention of Joël Aivo and Reckya Madougou, both arrested on the eve of the presidential election in 2021 and convicted of financing terrorism.

To the judicial and penitentiary administration, Boni Yayi urges professional awareness and rapid end to punitive measures against political detainees. He asks the President of the Republic, Patrice Talon, to initiate the process of an amnesty law to restore peace and coexistence in the country, a principle dear to the people of Benin. He makes himself available to meet the tenant of the Marina to find conciliatory approaches with regard to respect for the fundamental freedoms essential to the good governance of the affairs of our common homeland.. At the opposite, former President Nicéphore Dieudonné Soglo says he is tired of the steps taken for a one-on-one with President Patrice Talon. He says he is very disappointed with the end of inadmissibility reserved for him. What he describes as contempt for his person. As such, he thinks to force. Only an intrusion at the Palais de la Marina is the solution available to him to be heard by whom it may concern.
