National Professional Handball League: Qualified abosport

Present in Cotonou from 2 at 9 August 2021 as part of the national phase of the professional handball league, Abosport was able to snatch its qualification for the professional league following by finishing 5th on 7 teams.

After a relatively difficult start to the competition, three defeats in as many outings against ASPAC, Flowers et Adjidja, coach's proteges, Angélo Adjagbénon ended this first National phase of the Pro Handball League in style. Indeed, it was not until their fourth outing against the Buffaloes to see a burst of pride from the men of Abomey who won 21#16. Young players who have been able to count on the experience of very determined elders, especially the goalkeeper, Fidèle Agbidinoukou who did for his training 75% you match. Technically he controlled almost all the 7 meters of the opposing team. However, at the end of the fifth outing the team once again stumbled against ASO Model before finishing the competition brilliantly against ASVO.

On six outings, the team experienced 4 defeats and 2 Victories.

A mixed but very encouraging assessment according to Fernando Ahouangansi one of the former handball players of Abomey still in activity. “Abosport today has proven that individually and collectively, the players mastered a certain number of defense systems in this case the system 3-3 which is the most used system today in the world. And of course the system 6-0 know by everyone”, he confided while specifying that “The attack is the real weak link of the team. We must work to correct these imperfections”.

Abosport, lack of support

Abosport, a team in formation around a few elders deserves special attention from the authorities of the historic city. Because it owes its participation to a good will, Aimé Sèbio who spares no effort to support the team from the warm-up phase to this National phase of the Pro Handball league.
