The Honorable Sèdami Médégan Fagla : "Girls must be protected"

 Education is one of the main pillars of a nation's development. It is for this reason that international organizations are campaigning for the education of children, especially girls.. A subject close to the heart of the Honorable Sédami Médégan Fagla.

At the end of their adolescence, particularly at the upper stage of their studies, girls face bullying, a growing practice in Benin and whose authorities at various levels are trying to combat. The Honorable Sèdami Médégan Fagla, very sensitive to the scourge, does not fail to support the young Beninese students who are victims of this practice. “No one has the right to ask young female students anything before passing on knowledge to them.. They must also study and without any consideration” proclaims the MP, for who, “girls need to be protected. We need to talk about it and get the students to speak out when the time comes. Until then everyone knows that harassment in our universities is a reality but no one wants to openly talk about it..

 "We have the right to come to university with weaknesses because we don't have to be confronted with this phenomenon", notify the honorable.  To believe it, the phenomenon is not lacking in consequences, including the loss of self-confidence. This undoubtedly affects the performance of the students and therefore their skills.. Today, she says many young girls are forced to "change courses and even end their studies to get out of trouble".

This is why she invites the latter and even those who witness such a practice to denounce the perpetrators.. “When a person engages in such a practice, we have a duty to alert the authorities. Too much, it's too much, we all have children and we don't want our children to go through what we went through. We want them to study in Benin but we must have the assurance that they will be protected by the university community”, reaffirms the Honorable Sèdami Médégan Fagla.
