The Kingdom of Morocco has been home since Tuesday 09 May 2023 the work of the African Ministerial Youth Conference, in the presence of African Youth Ministers.
In accordance with the High Guidelines of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God glorify Him aiming to strengthen cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and brotherly African countries in order to promote the emergence of African youth, this conference organized by the Ministry of Youth, of Culture and Communication has the major objective of strengthening and consolidating efforts to empower young Africans by promoting the significant participation of this category in the conduct of the social development agenda., economics and politics of Africa.
During his speech on the occasion, Monsieur Mohamed Mehdi BENSAID, Minister of Youth, of Culture and Communication highlighted the efforts made by the Kingdom of Morocco for the implementation of the African Youth Charter, while reiterating the Kingdom's commitment to strengthening South-South cooperation at the center of Morocco's foreign policy, under the leadership of His Majesty King MOHAMMED VI.
The Minister emphasized at the same time, on the need to reconsolidate the place of the Pan-African Youth Union in continental decision-making bodies, in order to carry the voice of African youth and provide real solutions to the problems of African youth.
On his side, Mr Moumouni Dialla, President of the Pan-African Youth Union expressed his deep gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI may God Glorify him, as to the warm welcome given to them by the participating delegations and the living and working conditions offered to them, while paying tribute to the Sovereign for his leadership in favor of African youth and emphasizing the importance of the projects initiated to meet the expectations of African youth.
Mr. President of the UPJ also recalled the importance of the ratification of the African Youth Charter which aims to protect young people against discrimination and guarantees them freedom of movement., of speech, d’association, religious, property and other human rights, while committing to promote their participation in society.
Highlighting the importance of the Pan African Youth Union as a continental body advocating for the establishment of sound public policies in favor of African youth, the African Ministers participating in this ministerial conference as well as the heads of delegation stressed the need to preserve this institution and to further enhance its contribution to decision-making at the continental level..
As well, the representatives of the participating delegations expressed their thanks and gratitude to His Majesty King MOHAMMED VI for his unwavering royal commitment to promoting the conditions of African youth.
It should be noted that this ministerial conference has the participation of 100 young leaders, representatives of National Youth Councils, of civil society and African youth platforms.
