Launch of the project "Light on the premises":The B'EST and Sens-Bénin network for the popularization of local products

The Bénin Entreprendre Solidarité network with its territory (B’EST) in collaboration with Solidarity, North-South companies (Sens-Benin) proceeded, Friday 13 November 2020, at the main hall of the Abomey-Calavi town hall at the official launch of the "Light on the premises" project. Opportunity for the network to announce the organization of a competition within the framework of the said initiative.

Implemented by Solidarity Enterprises of South Benin (ES South-Benin) of the B’EST Network with the technical and financial support of SENS Benin and GIZ, the project "Light on the Local" is an initiative which aims to animate, to make the B’EST Network visible and to enhance its reputation, to make the products of member entrepreneurs a benchmark in the world of local consumption in Benin. In this perspective, to promote the B’EST approach and its values ​​contained in the five principles of the B’EST Charter, the network decided to identify and distinguish the stakeholders in the promotion of local products in the areas of intervention of SENS-Benin. I believe Karim Kékéré, network member, it will be for the stakeholders to be assessed by the targeted actors on the basis of their impact on the promotion of local products and for the targeted actors to better understand their strengths and weaknesses which limit local consumption. "Too, will they be promoted, with the population, every week during the project implementation period, the elements of the B'EST charter ", he specifies.

For Eunice Zinzindohoue Mensah, project representative, it is an approach based on the sharing of wealth where the producer is paid a fair price. "In this process, the project plans to identify and distinguish all the actors in the agro-food production chain, promotion and enhancement of the consumption of local products ”, she confirms.

According to Kemi Fakambi, Managing Director of SENS-Bénin, this is the first time in the history of the B’EST network, a collective of entrepreneurs are coming together to propose an initiative that will give value to a construction that is a good number of years old ", are. To believe it, this initiative, which aims to reach five hundred thousand people around the world, will shed light on Benin and attract other entrepreneurs. "It is our shared goal to have a network of entrepreneurs, a force for change ", va-t-elle ajouter.
