Benin Craftsmen Day 2021: The event celebrated in Godomey

The craftsmen of the municipality of Abomey- Calavi like those of Benin celebrated on Friday 5 mars 2021 Benin Craftsmen's Day (JAB). A celebration that was marked by activities organized in the nine districts of the municipality of Abomey- Calavi. A Godomey, it was the Cococodji youth center that hosted the festivities on Saturday 6 last march.

It was in a good-natured atmosphere that the commemoration of the edition took place 2021 Benin Craftsmen's Day. For the craftsmen of the arrondissement of Godomey, it's time for the great reunion between masons, painters, dressmakers(eras), hairdressers (ses)…

It is through the performances of artists and parades that the various associations present at this event wanted to mark the celebration of this year. At the end of the activities that marked the said day, Rock Djibodé the president of the JAB organizing committee 2021 in the borough of Godomey did not fail to show his satisfaction "I am very happy that we commemorated this day together with the artisans of Godomey. This celebration is for all of us here present a very beautiful celebration and one can read the satisfaction in the faces not only of us who are the bosses but also in that of our apprentices ». On the occasion of the meeting of the National Executive Bureau which took place this Saturday at the headquarters of the party, he did not fail to thank those who worked for the success of this celebration in this district "I would like, on behalf of the artisans of the district of Godomey, to say a big thank you to the municipal authorities who accompanied us to the success of this event. The presence of municipal councilor Obed Kouton is proof of their support. The various associations present here also deserve our thanks.”, he said before inviting the authorities at various levels to formalize the profession of artisans in Benin given the importance of this sector of activity "Artisans are put in the last row. Which is a shame when we all know the important role they play. We do not understand that we always qualify our sector as informal. We recognize the efforts made by our rulers, in particular the Minister of Culture and the President of the Republic.. We invite them to continue on this momentum so that by then, crafts in Benin be formalized ».

Present at this commemorative ceremony, Obed Kouton, municipal councilor and representative of the mayor of Abomey-Calavi also felt satisfied with the progress of the activities and especially invited the craftsmen to unite more for the development of the sector at the municipal but also national level "I would like to congratulate the craftsmen of the arrondissement of Godomey who brilliantly organized this party. After the launch on Friday, the latter have seen fit to meet to celebrate what remains a great initiative. Today there are two groups of craftsmen in the municipality of Abomey-Calavi, a situation we are trying to resolve. We wish for a reconciliation of the latter so that from now on we have a single organization as our authorities wish”, did he know.

All eyes are already on the next edition of Benin Craftsmen's Day.
