Jean Sodji: An athlete in the blood

The Executive Committee of the Benin Handball Federation (FBHB) is full of men of quality and committed to the cause of discipline. One of them is Jean Sodji, current second vice-president of the FBHB and chairman of the youth handball development commission (CDHJ). The man in uniform is an athlete in the blood.

Because, no and 1971 to Madjrè, Jean Sodji became familiar with handball in 1984 by participating in various school championships within the handball team of the Prytanée Militaire de Bembèrèkè until 1991, the year he got his first university degree. At the University of Abomey-Calavi (UAC), the young student of 20 years has remained attached to his sport and logically takes part in the various university championships within the handball and athletics teams of the National University of Benin (UNB) of 1991 at 1994 then at various national championships with Olympique de Bohicon (1994-1996). Member of the sports ensemble of Benin students (THAT), he was from 1992 at 1994, member of the Federal Athletics Council as General Secretary of the UNB Athletics Club. Opportunity for him to taste the training of 1st degree technical official (in 1992). Very active and determined, Jean Sodji becomes a player in the Entente Handball Club (1996-2004). But cumulatively, he missed no opportunity for training in athletics. He thus participated, successively to the training of first degree coach of the international federation of amateur athletics (IAAF) in Benin (in 2000), to the 2nd and 3rd degree IAAF coaching training in Senegal (in 2003) and IAAF 4th degree coaching training in Senegal (in 2012). Jean Sodji has since 2017 nowadays, the first vice-president of Adjidja Handball Club (a professional handball team from Benin, Editor's note). He works at the direction of the service of the stewardship of the armies.

Jean Sodji, a man with several diplomas in his purse

After his baccalaureate, Jean Sodji opted for legal sciences by enrolling at the FADESP of the University of Abomey-Calavi (UAC) while continuing his military studies. There he obtained all his higher diplomas at the UAC. In 1995, he obtained the DUEJG in legal sciences and pocketed 1996, his Combined Arms Certificate (CIA Ouidah, 1996) ; his Technical Certificate N°1 option Administration (Koulikoro in Mali, 1999) ; its Technical Certificate N°2, Military Administration Option (Koulikoro in Mali, 2002) and his Diploma of Aptitude to the rank of Major. But before, he picked up in 1997, his Bachelor's degree in legal sciences (Option Political Science and International Relations). And, in 2006, the native of Madjrè was doubly happy. He acquired his Masters in legal sciences, Option Political Science and International Relations (FADESP/UAC, 2006)  and holds a Masters 2 Regional Integration and Development (UAC, 2016). The icing on the cake is her PhD in Geography and Environmental Management (EDP/UAC, 2020). A scroll that opens the door to Teacher-Researcher at the Living Environment Institute of the University of Abomey-Calavi.

The man with long professional experiences like the arm

Major defense player, public safety and security (geopolitics and geostrategy) ; perfect knowledge of regional groupings, Jean Sodji is a curious and very courageous man. He has a sense of respect, of responsibility, of innovation and improvement, development of others and proactive cooperation. From 2007 at 2021, Jean Sodji taught military courses (stewardship option). Army advance manager (Chef Service, 2014 nowadays), he was respectively head of the armed forces advance management (RAA/DSIA, 2013 at 2014) ; head of accounting department at the National School of the Armed Forces (ENSA, 2006 at 2013) ; in charge of studies at the direction of the material of the armies (WHEN, 2004 at 2006) ; Head of Private Secretariat of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces (C/SP/CEMG, 2002-2004) ; in charge of studies in the litigation department of the Ministry of National Defense (2001-2002) ; head of cell at the civil and military affairs intelligence office (2000-2001).He also has to his credit several participations in seminars, conferences, conferences and congresses.

His hobbies and associative life of Jean

The sport (Athletics, handball, swimming), lecture, first aid and recreation, entertainment etc., are some areas of interest of Jean Sodji who is also involved in community life. French speaking (excellent level), english (average level) and some local languages (Fon, Goun, Mina, Give it), the one who has done several Research and Publications of Articles was a founding member of the Pan-Africanist University Movement of Benin (MPU) and Founding Member of the International Association of Law Students (AIEJ). Dr Jean Sodji is therefore a well-equipped man whom the president of the FBHB Sidikou Karimou needs to achieve his objectives..
