Expectations

For Zakiatou Latoundji, president of the Upmb, fundamentally in terms of expectations today in the sector, “these are the reforms in the sector. Our sector is suffering enormously and it is important to carry out reforms to improve cooperation and also allow actors to make a living from the exercise of their profession”, she told the daily Bénin Intelligent. Ulrich Vital Ahotondji, president of Odem is of the opinion : “It’s a very good thing to know that someone who knows is in the right place to make the right decisions, to guide the institution in the direction desired by the corporation”. Michel Ahonon, Cfcp facilitator also agreed. “We expect him now that he has the presidency of the institution, that the institution now aligns itself in this collaboration with professional associations, in this collaboration with the stakeholders so that we can really put things back in place and give journalists what is rightfully theirs by promoting their development in viable and credible press companies that thrive in a cleaned-up environment”.
