Training in technical-tactical football video analysis : Sosthène Sèflimi reveals the objectives

In order to bring its special touch to the professionalization of Beninese football, the Monange Promotions Agency and ANIF-Sport organize 8 at 10 August 2022, training for the benefit of the various clubs to promote a first generation of video analysts. During a meeting with the press, Wednesday 6 July 2022, Sosthène Sèflimi unveiled the objectives of this great initiative.

Benin will soon know its first video analysts. The clubs that run the professional championship and attached to sports companies have recruited European technicians with the new formula of the championship, the Super League. Notwithstanding, none has a specialist capable of working on the matches filmed for the purpose of viewing a posteriori to improve the performance of the players and the club. And today with the professionalization of football launched by the Beninese government, everyone is working to comply with the new requirements and by extension, build the capacity of supervisors. So, to fill this void,  the Monange Promotions Agency and ANIF-Sport with the assistance of the Technical Advisor to the Minister of Sports Jean-Marc Adjovi-Boco called on the Senegalese, Elhadji Abdoulaye Seck in order to strengthen the capacities of professional football clubs by enabling them to train the members of their technical staff in video analysis.

According to Sosthène Sèflimi, Sports project management consultant, the expert will be dispatched to Cotonou for an unprecedented training in technical-tactical football video analysis for the benefit of coaches in Benin. “The objective is to create in Benin, the corps of video analysts, to democratize access to tools for analyzing the performance of footballers, to institute the analysis of the game within the technical frameworks of all professional clubs and training centers, and sports classes”, he indicated.

To believe it, it is essential nowadays to obtain as much information as possible about the opponents but also to properly decipher the different sessions. "That is why, it is increasingly necessary to have a video analyst in a technical staff who is responsible for studying the game in detail, using technology and using all kinds of data”, he hinted, while specifying that "coaches, supervisors of training centers and sports classes, sports directors, sports journalists, media analysts, recruiters… can register to be entitled to this training”.
