The French coach aged 63 years, Jean-Michel Cavalli is close to becoming the new coach of Mena du Niger.
Indeed, following the departure of his compatriot, Jean-Guy Walleme, the now ex-coach of MC Oran of Algeria present on Nigerien territory since this Sunday 27 September is close to taking the lead in the Niger selection. According to the local press, an agreement was reached between the native of Ajaccio and the Niger Football Federation (Fenifoot) and all that remains is the official signing of his contract.
Jean-Michel Cavalli's mission will undoubtedly be to bring Niger back on the path to victory and above all qualify Mena for the next African Cup of Nations which will take place in Cameroon in 2022. As a reminder, Niger is housed in Group K along with Côte-d'Ivoire, Madagascar and Ethiopia. Mena have zero points after two days and will play Ethiopia in the next two qualifying days.
In terms of experience, Jean-Michel Cavalli wearing his 63 years has a lot. The French technician has passed through several clubs on the old continent, particularly in France and Italy., in golf but also in Africa precisely in Morocco, in Egypt and Algeria. Cavalli will not be at his first if he were to sign as coach. He has already been at the head of a national team and it is Algeria of which he was coach between 2006 and 2007.
