The first training course for bowls enthusiasts tempted by a career as a trainer or international referee, organized by the Honorable Gilbert Bagana and chaired by Claude Azéma and Claude Rauly respectively President of the International Federation of Pétanque and Provençal Game and President and Director of the International Center for Pétanque Education ended on Tuesday 7 December 2021. This is a new step taken by the participants in the ascent of their common discipline.
They are 32 trainees including five from Togo to benefit from this training which took place from 5 at 7 December 2021 at the International Petanque Training Center (CIFOP) by Djadjo. A training course never before organized in Africa which aims to build capacity and impart new knowledge to participants. Et c’est lors d’un diner majestueusement et copieusement bien organisé que cette initiative saluée de tous a pris fin.
"We have held the bet. I am very happy with this honor that the two icons have given us in terms of training in the world of pétanque by leading this course ”, said the promoter of CIFOP, the Honorable Gilbert Bagana before continuing "This is only the first step. We plan to organize others under the management of the National Technical Director of Pétanque, Guy Tronou who is the linchpin of everything we have done so far. This is our way of contributing to the rooting and building of our common discipline ".
L'honorable Richard Allosohoun, General Treasurer of the Beninese Pétanque Federation in his speech congratulated the participants on having successfully completed the course. “The executive committee of the Beninese Pétanque Federation is proud. Because the Honorable Gilbert Bagana has helped us build the capacity of our referees and train new educators. We also thank the president of the Fédération Internationale de pétanque et de Jeu Provençal and the President and Director of the Center International d'Enseignement en Pétanque, Claude Azéma and Claude Rauly respectively. It's not for everyone to act so kindheartedly. We will be more grateful to you ”, he hinted.
The president of the Fédération Internationale de pétanque et de Jeu Provençal, Claude Azéma after thanking each other called on the trainees to apply what they have learned for the benefit of youth and their respective clubs or associations. "It is up to you to show on the ground that you have acquired something", he said while letting go "I know that this International Petanque Training Center will be the attraction of the World Petanque that Benin will host in December 2022. Because the delegations will jostle each other to come and prepare here ”.
