Sports festival in Benin: Fndajsl and Cnos-Ben celebrate the event

The National Fund for the Development of Youth Activities, sports and recreation (Fndajsl) in communion with the Beninese National Olympic and Sports Committee (Cnos-Ben) celebrated on the occasion of the international day of peace, sports festival. Scope on the theme “Sport in the service of peace”, this commemoration was an opportunity for both structures to exhibit more, the 25 and 26 last September at the Cotonou Friendship Congress Center, the contributions of sport to development and peace. It was through communications on the themes "Sport and sustainable development", "Sport in the service of peace and" The benefits of physical and sports activities ", presented by the president of Cnos-Ben, Julien minavoa, and the Secretary General of Cnos-Ben, Fernando Hessou for the attention of the Beninese sports movement.

"Sport and sustainable development illustrate the links between them. Sport is involved and plays a real player in the concerns of sustainable development ", said the president of the Beninese National Olympic and Sports Committee, Julien Minavoa in his presentation. This is why he informs "The protection of the environment is a crucial priority for the International Olympic Committee which through the Olympic movement strives not only to guarantee sustainable practices in the organization and planning of events, but also to promote the protection of our planet. ». He also said to the place of sports players who came in large numbers to follow his communication that the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace is an annual celebration of the power of sport as a vector of social change., community development, of peace and understanding.

After this beautiful presentation of the president of the Beninese national Olympic sports committee, place was made on Saturday 26 September, communication led by the Secretary General of the same structure, Fernando Hessou. Communicating around the themes "Sport for peace" and "the benefits of physical and sporting activities", he showed that sport is useful for our societies because "it conveys values ​​for peace, for education and for children ". Better, he explains that sport is the place of symbolic encounters that nourish the appeasement of deep-rooted tensions. . "Beside the political scope, the use of sport, bringing together antagonisms and providing social benchmarks, produces concrete results ”, he said while emphasizing the many benefits that physical and sporting activity brings to humans. "Sport helps us in particular to lose weight, to strengthen our bones and cardiovascular capacities. Moreover, it strengthens our motor skills. It positively affects our mind and mental health ”.

The Director General of Fndajsl, Imorou Bouraima explained the motivations of the structure he heads to work with Cnos-Ben to run this organization. "Peace is essential for all societies, for its development on the one hand, And on the other hand, for his well-being. Because in a country where there is no peace, where we have to run from left to right, you do not have the peace of mind to not only focus on the development of the country but also so that you can be at ease in your country ", he declared before underlining that "The fund is generally committed to supporting all the initiatives of both sports associations and civil associations which contribute to the development of sport.. And, as i say, peace is also a factor in the development of sport. This is why the bottom jumped on this proposal of the Olympic Committee which wished to celebrate this day as well with the sporting world so that together we can pronounce this word “peace”, which is essential for the development of our nation ”.
