FIFF-Cotonou Edition 3: The call for films launched

Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin, will house 06 at 11 February 2024, the 3rd edition of the Cotonou Women's Film Festival (Fiff-Cotonou). Placed under the theme “Female cinema for more sisterhood”, this festival aims to highlight the work of women filmmakers, to help them solve many of the problems they encounter.

According to the president of the EcranBénin Association, association which organizes this Cornélia Glèlè festival, “The main objective is to contribute to the promotion and safeguarding of the work of women in cinema with a view to their promotion and revaluation”, she indicates. Before adding that it is about giving visibility to these women filmmakers so that they can promote their works. Already, the members of the organizing committee are convinced that FIFF-Cotonou will not only make it possible to discover women and their abilities through cinema. This third edition promises to be very rich. In this context, the call for films was unveiled today by the organizing committee. It is open and will close on 30 next august. Registration will only be done online on the website www.fiffcotonou.com and is only open to African female directors who have produced on the theme of women. : short films without distinction (fiction, essay, animation and documentary). Through this announcement, the organizing committee invites women filmmakers to apply to publicize their films and the issues they address but also announce to potential partners that they can begin to position themselves on this event., the first one to promote women’s cinema.
