Beninese Tennis Federation: The results of activities scrutinized

The Marius Francisco auditorium of the Beninese National Olympic and Sports Committee hosted this Saturday 26 June 2021 the Ordinary General Assembly of the Benin Tennis Federation. It was an opportunity for those involved in this sport to take stock of the activities carried out during the ending term of the executive committee in charge of the management of Benin tennis.

This statutory meeting was held under the supervision of the Director of Elite Sports Bonaventure Coffi Codjia representing the Minister of Sports unable to attend. After checking the quorum, the delegates observed a minute in memory of the tennis players at the national level who are no longer in this world. At the start, the president of the Benin Tennis Federation, Jean-Claude Talon, was honored for his message to the delegates. In his speech, he thanked the assistance and praised the enthusiasm of the whole Beninese tennis family through the trip made. For the president, this sitting is a tradition as recommended by the texts of the association. This was followed by the presentation of activity reports. From the balance sheet presented on the moral level, it appears that Benin running the mandate of the outgoing office has shown itself positively with its participation in various sub-regional competitions, continental, and internationally including the Davis Cup. For this purpose, several medals are won by the athletes. It should therefore be noted that the executive committee at the same time came into line with its installation in July 2017 as to the sport component of the Government's Action Program. What allowed according to the president, to make huge progress.

The umbrella body of tennis in Benin has also succeeded in strengthening its relations with institutions ; in this case the Ministry of the Living Environment. Hence the agreement with the state for the construction of tennis courts in municipal stadiums under construction. In the same logic, Benin through the FBT is invited to the French-speaking working group with convincing results. The construction of the French-speaking tennis academy in Avlékété in the commune of Ouidah is a palpable example of this.. At the financial level, we note that all activities were funded with a significant contribution from President Jean-Claude Talon outside of state subsidies through the sports ministry. The budget is therefore balanced in revenue and expenditure, according to the report presented by the General Treasurer. These reports must be notified were unanimously approved by the delegates. And it is on a feeling of satisfaction that the participants in this ordinary general meeting parted ways.
