Benin Athletics Federation (FBA) organizes from 1st to 5 November 2021, in collaboration with the National Fund for the Development of Youth Activities, sports and leisure (FNDAJSL), a refresher session for senior judges. The launching ceremony of this session took place on Monday 1 is November 2021 at the Charles de Gaulle stadium in Porto-Novo under the aegis of the president of the Benin Athletics Federation, Viérin Dégon.
According to the secretary general of the FBA, Achille Aïhou "if this training takes place, it is certainly because the Federation wants to improve its services, wants to improve the quality of its competitions ”. Beyond this training session, the federation wants the competitions to be multiplied so that it has competitions of good quality. To believe the director of this course, World athletics speaker, Okry Nonvignon, this training is timely to strengthen the capacities of judges because of the evolution of the rules but also because of the observation regularly made and which requires capacity building. "Our role as a judge, is to give every chance, to offer all the opportunities to our athletes so that they can achieve the best of themselves ", he said before adding "At the end of this recycling session, participants should be quite seasoned, able to supervise events with more quality for the happiness of the athletes ".
For Viérin Dégon, president of the FBA, it is an important opportunity for the lecturer and the participants to go through the different sectors important in the management of an athletics competition during five days. He recalled that most of the participants had received training since 2012. So he will say "It was time for the federation to put them back in the bath because, the rules change quickly in the world of athletics ". He indicated that those who are not in this training will benefit from a remedial session while thanking the National Fund for the Development of Youth Activities, sports and leisure (FNDAJSL) for his support.
It should be noted that this session will be punctuated by an evaluation in two phases : a theoretical phase and a practical phase.
