Former President Boni Yayi
"I have just learned with great sadness of the disappearance of our dear mother, the Honorable Rosine Vieyra SOGLO, President of the Renaissance of Benin.
Intrepid patriot, Mom was involved in all the fights for the development of African women.
It marked our collective consciousness, The history of the people of Benin in building and strengthening our Democracy.
Since the National Conference, notwithstanding his advanced age, she continued the fight for the restoration of this Democracy, the rule of law and respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.
Our dear mom had a busy life. The flame she lit must be kept alive by our youth. My wife Chantal joins me in offering our most saddened condolences to the Republic, to the SOGLO family, to his children Lehady and Galiou, and particularly to President Nicéphore Dieudonné SOGLO, whom she supported with all her might in her fight for the liberation of Africa.

Reckya Madougou : "I loved Rosine SOGLO"
« Adieu, the legend ! I loved Rosine SOGLO. It will now be more painful for everyone, including former Minister Reckya Madougou, to combine a tireless state woman in the past, a committed activist with conviction, a passionate political Amazon who is always on the alert, a mother of the Nation with a demanding responsibility that we have loved and worked with.
As many, Reckya Madougou knew Rosine Vierya SOGLO by the ideal of her convictions as First Lady, the lucidity of her commitment as a member of the National Assembly, the kindness of his heart to the weakest and children, the assumed strength of its choices which have above all accompanied and informed the democratic history of our country. Benin thus loses its greatest politician of the last thirty years., On the way to his militant commitment, Reckya Madougou has known, loved and shared values, doubts and received advice from this pasionaria of integrity in politics.
The last days, despite his critical condition, she was hearing from the incarcerated Reckya Madougou and worried about the evolution of her situation in Akpro-Missérété civil prison while sending her words of courage and perseverance. All our condolences and those of the most saddened by Reckya Madougou to His Excellency Nicéphore SOGLO, former President of the Republic, to his sons Léhady and Ganiou and to the whole SOGLO family ”.

Valentin DJENONTIN-AGOSSOU "Farewell Grandma Rosine VIEYRA SOGLO"
" On Sunday 25 July 2021, Granny Rosine VIEYRA SOGLO, the very First Lady of the era of democratic renewal in Benin has bowed out.
I had the privilege of spending more than three years alongside our mother Rosine Vieyra Soglo at the National Assembly, seventh legislature.
Although in her eighties and visually impaired, Grandma Rosine enjoyed lucidity, of extraordinary alertness and intellectual integrity.
Despite the weight of age, Mémé was present at all sessions of Parliament, both in committee and in plenary.
Granny forced my admiration by the density of her culture and her phenomenal memory.
She always fought for her beliefs with honor and dignity.
During the short time that I had the honor of being close enough to her, I was also able to note the importance she placed on integrity and loyalty.
I testify in memory of our late mother of the esteem I enjoyed with her. Indeed, while in care in Paris in July 2018, it was to me that she had sent her written proxy signed with her own hand to vote in her place and against the second attempt to revise the Constitution of Benin from 11 December 1990.
Same, knowing your love and attachment to your family, I imagine your pain to leave this world in the absence by your side of your elder Léhady and your husband, President SOGLO with whom you have spent more than six decades of life together.
Same, this is when our country, Benin is going through the most exacerbated socio-political crisis in its history, where the Beninese are deeply divided among themselves that it pleased the Creator of the Universe to call you into his celestial bliss.
I pray to God to light up the hearts of our leaders so that they will seize your passing as the golden opportunity given by the Lord to be reconciled with your family, the entire political class, all the vital forces of the Nation and all the Beninese people !
All together, pay a vibrant tribute to Mémé Rosine SOGLO and make prosper the legacy she leaves from her struggles by cultivating the values she embodied.
All my condolences to President Nicéphore Dieudonné SOGLO, to my brothers Léhady and Ganiou Soglo, to the entire SOGLO community as well as to all the Beninese people.
May the Lord receive our Grandma at his side ”.
