Applications and withdrawals of biometric identity cards: Here is the new layout

The headquarters of the National Agency for the Identification of Persons (Anip) in Cadjèhoun will no longer be the place of reception to make requests or withdrawals of the national biometric identity card from 11 avril 2023. This is what emerges from the press release signed by the Director General of Anip, Pascal Nyamulinda.

Indeed, solicitations and withdrawals of national biometric identity cards (Cnib) will take place in the future, at the level of the prefecture and in the communal units for the identification of persons (unit) in town halls, the same in the districts of Cotonou, Abomey-Calavi and Parakou. Beneficiaries will therefore now be asked, to go to these places from 11 avril 2023.

“The National Agency for the Identification of Persons notifies its users that from Tuesday 11 avril 2023, requests and withdrawals of national biometric identity cards will no longer be made at the headquarters of Anip in Cadjèhoun. From now on, requests and withdrawals of national biometric identity cards will be made at the prefecture of Cotonou…”, mentions said press release.

It should be noted that the national biometric identity card is used, through a decision taken by the government during the Council of Ministers dated 24 July 2020. This card complies with ECOWAS standard and can be used for professional operation, the same applies to the operations of the Insurance project to strengthen human capital (Arch). Like the national identity card still in use, this also has a validity of 5 years.
