The president of the National Assembly of Benin, Louis Vlavonou at the head of a parliamentary delegation went to sympathize and closely assess the extent of the damage and at the same time bring, its support and that of the National Representation to victims, to grieving families and survivors of the rising waters of the Niger rivers in the department of Alibori. The mayor of Kandi commune, Zinatou Alazi Osseni Saka dwelled on the material and human damage recorded in his town before expressing his gratitude and satisfaction for this trip made by the President of the National Assembly of Benin. Moussa Mouhamadou, Prefect of Alibori a, on the other hand, took advantage of this meeting to present the strengths available to the department he is in charge of. "Alibori borders with three big countries. It is a predominantly agricultural department. The seat of white gold which contributes significantly to the national economy ", he said before adding that "Climate change has destabilized the whole system". The departmental authority then made a suggestion : "I would like to suggest that you be our spokesperson to the head of state so that Alibori benefits from the achievements".

Speaking, Louis Vlavonou, President of the National Assembly reiterated the objective of the descent. " What brings us, it is not first to make donations. What we have planned so that 2021 the same things do not repeat themselves "he declared while specifying" We are the legal representatives of the people and we are nothing without the people who elected us. As a reminder, the parliamentary delegation visited Gogbèdè a village in the district of Bensèkou in the commune of Kandi to assist the victims with an envelope of two million CFA francs.
