Danielle Pliya : “I don’t wait to be told I’m beautiful”

As has been customary for decades, women were still in the spotlight this 8 mars 2024. ”Investing in women : pick up the pace” is the theme chosen to reflect on issues related to women's rights and consider future prospects for their real emancipation. For Danielle Pliya, nutrition consultant to the United Nations, dietitian and afronaturopath, the theme demonstrates that there is still a way to go to reduce gender inequalities. This 8 mars 2024, women are still in the spotlight. What do you think of this celebration? ?

The 8 March becomes a sort of tradition that must be celebrated as if a celebration for women could only be limited to a single day. While a woman is at the beginning of life until death. The theme chosen by the United Nations this year is Investing in Women : pick up the pace”. For me, that means everything.

What do you think we need to understand??

This means that since the time we began to launch this International Women's Day we have not yet seen the return on investment in how women are involved and become a key element in the functioning of society.. So, asking to speed up the pace means that we are entering an era where if, who are in the earth… I bring them back to life… It is a work of memory conservation that I do, we don’t pick up the pace, society will suffer. And so, it is important to understand that beyond all the festivities, beyond all the flashiness that we give to this day that we can change paradigm and way of thinking to ask ourselves what is the place of women in society ?

The woman also has her share of responsibility?

The woman is the main element. She herself must know what she is worth. Because we keep saying the place of women but does the woman herself know herself? ? I talk to women. Who are you?

As you are a woman. I then ask you to answer for them.

We have assets. We have so many assets. I am simply saying that to women: Did you know that there are more centenarian women than men? ? And if you see the number of widows compared to the number of widowers, it is not comparable. This means we have grace on our lives. And so if God allows women to have this longevity, it's because he's betting on her. You can't make someone last on earth if that person isn't worth it.. This is why I call on women in this 8 march so that it is not a 8 March like the others. My dear women, changed in manner and outlook.

What do you say about education for marriage if not for life as a couple? ?

When I speak of the human body and the home, I make the metaphor with the car. To start a car and get on the road, you have to know the code. Today, why there is an explosion in the divorce rate? Because women are not prepared for marriage or to live with a man. Pendant 30 years, you were taught to manage your life in a way. And then you meet someone who has also done the same on their side. Maybe she's always been told that a wife shouldn't know what her husband earns.. He doesn't know how you live and what you like or eat. Now you are together without having the tools you need to lead a life together. This is a real problem. The mistake many make, especially women, it is that as long as there is good love everything will be resolved with time. Well that's false. You have to go to the school of life together. Because let's not forget love is a feeling that must be learned. Same as living as a couple.

As a consultant and woman of impact, what do you have to say to your sisters?

I don't wait to be told that I'm beautiful. Every morning, I look in the mirror and I say to myself, you are blessed Danielle. God has blessed you and you are a beautiful creature. I start by telling women. Look in the mirror (mirror). The image you see if you don't like it you can change it. If you see that you are overweight, don't say that it's motherhood and that it's over.. I want to tell you that it is possible to have a life and a body that you want as a woman.. Our sisters must think about changing their mentality by seeking the right knowledge about themselves. And that’s what we do by supporting them.
