Cycling : Charlotte Metoevi in ​​bronze

Good news for the Beninese delegation participating in the Continental Track Cycling Championships in Abuja, in Nigeria.

She climbed on the third step of the podium, synonymous with a bronze medal on the 2nd day of the competition on Friday 15 July 2022. A charm won thanks to Charlotte Métoévi in ​​the junior girls category.

Romuald Hazoumè President of the Beninese Cycling Federation (FBC) said to himself “very happy” of the result which highlights the new Beninese cycling development policy. “The merit goes to the runners but also to the main partner of the federation which continues to support the initiatives” said President Hazoumè while adding that this medal is the fruit of the work done by the runners and especially thanks to the support of the great partner of the FBC, the SOBERA. It was also the place for him to call with all his desire for the construction of a velodrome.

“Beninese cyclists can do better if they had adequate space to train. Like the parquet floor in basketball or the green rectangle in football, the velodrome is the most suitable space for the specialists of the little queen. Its construction is a wish dear to the nº1 of Beninese cycling” we read on the website of the Beninese cycling federation.

Chantal Vidognonlonhoué, Charlotte Metoevi,  Abdoul Baari Saibou and Romaneti Ezer Mensah represent Benin in this competition.
