CRIET: Agnonglo Boccovo sentenced to 7 years in prison, his co-accused acquitted

The first criminal session for the year 2020-2021 of the Court for the Repression of Economic Crimes and Terrorism (CRIET) opened on Friday 13 November 2020. Several cases were handled, in particular a misappropriation of funds at the Zou Collines Departmental Hospital Center.

Indeed, according to Banouto, CRIET sentenced Agnonglo Boccovo to 7 years in prison, five (05) million CFA francs in a firm fine and thirteen (13) million CFA francs in damages. Philippe Dako, the second person accused in this case was acquitted of the charges by the special court.

 The same source informs that the facts go back to October 2013. Thus during an account control at the Zou / Collines Departmental Hospital Center (CHD-Z-C), a diversion of eight million eight hundred twenty-seven thousand six hundred and twenty (8 827 260) CFA franc and pharmaceuticals, was found. The investigation opened for this purpose led to the questioning of Agnonglo Boccovo Léon and Philippe Dako, both accused in this case.
