A delegation from the 8th promotion of Young Leaders from Benin was received, Friday 04 June 2021, by the President of the Constitutional Court, Professor Joseph Djogbenou. On the menu for this meeting, of the powers of the Court.

Conducted by the Resident Representative of the Foundation, Frédrich Ebert, Hans Joachim Preuss, the delegation Young leaders of Benin discussed with the president of the Constitutional Court Joseph Djogbenou whose resistance plan was the attributions of the Court. Indeed, it's been since 2014 that Frédrich Ebert launched the Young Leaders of Benin program with the aim of contributing to methodically preparing Beninese youth for the challenges and issues of the development and governance of Benin. In his word, the Resident Representative of the Ebert Foundation, Hans Joachim Preuss thanked the President of the Constitutional Court for agreeing to share this moment of exchange with the young leaders. For him, young people need advice to develop well in social or even political life.

For its part, President Joseph Djogbenou welcomed the initiative and gave details of the four main powers of the Court. These are the review of constitutionality, protection of fundamental rights, regulation of the functioning of institutions, and control of national political elections. President Joseph Djogbenou did not fail to give advice to the Young Leaders of Benin.

As for young people, there is a note of satisfaction in their faces. They were obviously happy to have learned a lot about their country. This eighth promotion counts 24 young people selected through a rigorous process. They come from political parties, trade unions and civil society including the private sector.
