In a statement dated Monday 31 August 2020, the African Football Confederation has published the schedule of the African Champions League TOTAL and the TOTAL Confederation Cup counting for the season 2020/21. The different affiliated associations are also invited to enter their different clubs to compete in the two competitions..

Through the said press release sent to the general secretaries of the federations, the executive committee of the African Confederation of
Football calls on the federations to make the commitments of the different clubs that must represent each of them. And to make it easier for them, the continental body
presented a few scenarios, one of which states that : << for associations that were unable to close the season 2019/20 and having canceled it, the teams entered for the next season of the CAF interclub competitions will be the same teams entered during the season 2019/20 en tenant compte de l’allocation de place pour chaque association>>. This clearly means that while awaiting even the major decisions that will emerge from the General Assembly of the Benin Football Federation scheduled for this month of September that the two probable representatives of Benin in said competitions will be : les Buffles FC de Borgou en ligue africaine des champions et Esae FC en coupe de la confédération.
Entries are open from this Tuesday, September 1 2020 on the CAF competition management system (CMS) and will end on Tuesday 20 October 2020.
