Commercialization of river sand in the Municipality of Dangbo: Illegal quarries suspended

More activities on river sand quarries in Dangbo commune without prior authorization. The decision is taken the past week in favor of the second ordinary session of the municipal council for the year 2021.

This measure follows that of the government banning the illegal exploitation of river sand quarries throughout the national territory. The implementation of this decision in the commune of Dangbo comes a few days after a working session of the communal authorities with the executives of the Ministry of Decentralization and Local Governance on the subject.. From the point of the session made by the first deputy of Dangbo Bertin Jésunonté Lokossou on the occasion of the municipal conclave, it emerges that the authorities at both local and municipal level are instructed to regulate the sector in their respective localities at the risk of suffering the harshness of the law before the operators. So he insisted on strict compliance with the procedure to be followed by the actors of the sector to get in order.. For Mayor Maoudo Djossou, those who will violate this provision will be solely responsible for the disappointments which result from it. No river sand quarry has so far been authorized in Dangbo commune. The mayor is uncompromising about respecting the decision. However, he says he is available to help the citizens concerned in the context of reducing the administrative formalities for the authorization of their river sand mining site.
