They were 150 youth, boys and girls from diverse backgrounds, to take part in a specifically football holiday camp, on the initiative of the CAEEF Sport training center whose president is Police Commissioner Adébayo Assani. The 1st day of the first leg is fixed from 16 September 2023, it was the apotheosis at the René Pleven stadium in Akpakpa, despite the heavy rain that fell on Cotonou and its surroundings.

Curtain raiser for the closing ceremony of this holiday camp 2023 organized by CAEEF Sport, and which is in its first edition, a demo or exhibition match between these participating children, after a short warm-up session. This allowed the public who made the trip to appreciate from the stands, their know-how after this theoretical and practical football training which covered the period at the beginning of August and mid-September. Then it's time for the awards ceremony.

The best of all sexes who have distinguished themselves, received either jerseys, either crampons or balls, either certification. The coaches who supervised the children during the camp also received certificates. In his speech, the president of CAEEF Sport immediately presented the structure. CAEEF Sport following his words, brings together children in difficult situations but who have talent in sport, especially football. “So we decided to support them, to help them promote this talent, why not become big stars, and that’s why we created CAEEF Sport. Among the actions of CAEEF Sport, there is basic training, quality training. We want to train these young people so that tomorrow they become Christiano Ronaldos, Lionel Messi (…). We group children together on several sites : we have the Abomey-Calavi site, we have the Agla site and the René Pleven site”, said Police Commissioner Adébayo Assani. He will then focus on the holiday camp : “Among our activities that we have planned for this year 2023, there is the holiday camp. The holiday camp brings together young trainees, students, schoolchildren, middle school students, welders, all children who are passionate about football and who want to learn and develop in football”. The president of CAEEF Sport continues : " At the beginning, we set the registration at an amount of 50.000 F. At the end, there are only two who were able to pay the 50.000. Everything else, they took the course for free. They benefited from a training jersey ; they benefited from the support of eight coaches including one woman. Among these trainees, there are women, there are men. We have around forty girls of different categories and almost 110 garçons ». He will then thank the partners who supported the initiative including Fifa mineral water, official sponsor ; the Town Hall of Zè which plans to make an area available to CAEEF Sport so that the center can be established there. “We supported the managers of CAEEF Sport so that CAEEF Sport is now affiliated with the Beninese Football Federation to participate in the statutory competitions organized by the Federation, and it’s a joy to see today that it started well”, suggested the Representative of the Beninese Football Federation, Nelson Avadémey.

While congratulating the president of CAEEF Sport and his team for their “remarkable work in training which must be the pillar of our football today”, he reassured of the availability of the Federation to support the initiatives of CAEEF Sport. Very admiring, the Technical Advisor to the Minister of Sports also welcomed the initiative, which he stressed fits with the government's vision. Jean Marc Adjovi-Boco recalled the enormous investments made over the last seven years in sports in Benin, mainly in football with the sports infrastructures built. All things that give us hope for the future of sports in Benin.

“In honor of what we have learned, we promise to keep all these notions in mind and evolve while respecting them. We also promise to work well at school so that our parents are satisfied and deign to send us again for future editions. We pray that the leaders of CAEEF Sport have the necessary and adequate means to give us the chance to dream big to become stars of African football with world stature”, promised the spokesperson for the trainees

All this took place in the presence, among others by Gabin Kakpo, director of State protocol and sponsor of this first class of interns and Olu-sègun Adjinda, departmental director/Collines des sports.
