Choice of CAN organizing countries 2025 and 2027 : How the vote took place ?

The Executive Committee of the African Football Confederation proceeded this Wednesday 27 September at the choice of the organizing country of the Can and that of 2027.

Morocco being a candidate, President Fouzi, a member of the Comex, therefore did not take part in the election 2025. The president of the African Confederation does not vote. 22 less two, it therefore remains 20 people to vote.

Two members of the Executive Committee being absent (Malian and Tunisian), So 18 took part in the vote. Morocco being the only candidate, there was therefore a vote by acclamations.

Regarding 2027, twenty two minus (2members of the executive committee absent) = 20 minus the 4 Comex representatives whose countries are candidates (Senegal, Benign, Nigeria, Botswana plus the president of CAF Motsepé, all members of the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football therefore did not vote = 15 voters. The Tanzania – Uganda and Kenya trio obtained 8 voice, the Senegal 4 voice, the Benin Nigeria duo obtained 2 voice, et and Botswana 1 voice.
