Initially planned to take place in 2020 in Lausanne (Suisse) et Ayuttahya (Thailand) and following the refusal of these two countries due to the consequences of the Covid 19, the International Federation of Petanque and Provençal Game (FIPJP) has decided to entrust the organization of the three competitions (Women's World Championships, young people and gentlemen) to Spain. Said competitions will take place in November 2021.
After a blank year due to the pandemic of the century, the members of the Executive Committee of the Fédération Internationale de Pétanque et Jeu Provençal have resolved to resume activities in the field. For this purpose, postpone due to the consequences of the Coronavirus, the FIPJP would like to organize its competitions this year 2021. In this dynamic, during his session of 11 July 2021, it was decided to entrust the organization of the three competitions to Spain at the site of Santa Susanna, already approached for young people and women.
"The Spanish Federation, strongly relied on both government and local authorities and an available hotel complex, enthusiastically engaged in the project. Its leaders in particular accepted the health requirements of the FIPJP for which the protection of the health of athletes and executives is much better ensured by the conditions in which the competitions are organized than by leaving them at home ”, can we read on the website of the international body of petanque while indicating "subscribing to the line according to which the more the vaccination is developed the less the pandemic will last, the FIPJP will require that all the members of the delegations have received the necessary doses of vaccine at least fifteen days before the competitions. As for the public, the organization will comply with the requirements of the Catalan and Spanish authorities, particularly in terms of gauge and distance, but the FIPJP will at least ask that potential spectators present a negative PCR test, a specific center that can be set up on site ”.
After the finalization of these points with the Spanish Petanque Federation, especially for the International Congress and accommodation, "The FIPJP will send a detailed circular to all the national federations but the dates should be from 12 at 14 November for Women and Youth according to the same formula as in Cambodia, then from 19 at 21 for gentlemen, the International Congress being held on 18 ».
