Central African Republic : Catherine Samba-Panza presidential candidate

The former president of the Central African transition, Catherine Samba-Panza has announced her candidacy for the presidential election next December in the Central African Republic. This announcement was made in the capital Bangui, Friday 28 August 2020.

"I solemnly declare my candidacy for the presidential election", announced the former president of the transition in the Central African Republic, Catherine Samba-Panza during a ceremony organized by her Support Committee in Bangui.
For ruling this Central African country for two years, the lawyer by training now wants to go beyond this short stint at the head of her country. She says she is ready and determined to do better than her predecessors. She did not fail to recall in her remarks that she led the country under particularly difficult conditions. An experience that furthermore motivates her ambitions to be the first elected woman president of the Central African Republic.
Appointed transition president in January 2014, Catherine Samba-Panza was able to put the Central African Republic back on the path of development and democracy after years of armed conflict. She organized the presidential election which led to the head of the country, the current president and potential candidate Faustin-Archange Touadéra in 2016.
Today, she is one of those political figures who plan to give a more radiant face to the Central African Republic but it will be necessary to prevail in front of candidates like the former head of state, the very one she succeeded in 2014 François Bozizé and politicians such as Anicet George-Dologuélé, Martin Zinguélé, Crépin Mboli-Goumba and without a doubt, the current president Faustin Archange-Touadéra who is waiting to be invested by his party.
