Celebrating Labor Day in Benin : The High Councilor, Laïssi Radji pays a vibrant tribute to the workers

The vice-president of the Economic and Social Council (CES) from Benin, Laïssi Radios, paid a vibrant tribute to Beninese workers on the occasion of Labor Day this May 1. Retired Police Officer and United Nations Mission Expert, he knows the importance of the contribution of workers to society.

On the occasion of the celebration of May 1 2023, the High Councilor of the Republic to the Economic and Social Council (CES) from Benin, Laïssi Radji recalled the importance of workers in the life of society.

According to him, work is much more than just a source of income. There is a way to achieve your aspirations, feel valued and connect with others. ‹‹ Workers are the backbone of Benin's economy and society. They create jobs, generate wealth, and help maintain social stability ››, noted the vice-president of the CES.

Despite the challenges, Laïssi Radji expressed his faith in a better future for workers. A future where everyone has an equal chance to succeed, where workers' rights are respected, where safety and health are a priority and where work is valued for its role in building a fair and equitable society.

However, he acknowledged that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on workers, exposing the inequalities that exist in the world of work. Many have lost their jobs, had to work remotely or were exposed to high health and safety risks.

 The High Councilor, Laïssi Radji is convinced that "we can build a better future for workers where everyone has an equal chance to succeed, where workers' rights are respected, where safety and health are a priority and where work is valued for its role in building a fair and equitable society. ››
