CEG “Le Plateau” de Womey fait peau neuve: Amnesty International Benin says no to rape

The General Education College “Amnesty International Benin says no to rape” Amnesty International Benin says no to rape. The state of the fence of this place of knowledge created so many years ago no longer pleased the local artisans. Grouped under the banner of the Professional Association of Painters, calligraphers and screen printers from Godomey (APAPECAS), they have, on own funds, repainted and decorated the exterior facade of the said college. The ceremony marking the end of the work took place this Wednesday 9 mars 2022.

This Wednesday morning 9 mars 2022, heads of the General Education College “Amnesty International Benin says no to rape” de Womey, students, representatives of parents of students or local authorities had a common trait. The smile and joy that appeared on their faces. The fence of their college has just changed face. No one can now walk in front of the main gate of the college without noticing it.. The painters, Godomey’s calligraphers and serigraphers left their mark there. On the painted wall and brought up to date, you could feel their love flowing through the inks, sign of the attachment they have for the students, future of Godomey and the Beninese nation in general.

It was the president of the Departmental Union of Atlantic Artisans who broke the ban on speeches. Gerard Hountondji. He will be followed by Isabelle Doudou, president of the coordination of artisans of Godomey. At the desk, they both welcomed the commitment and this laudable initiative of their peers. The president of the coordination of artisans of Godomey especially invited the members of APAPECAS to ” l’union ” to do more for their community. “The work or work produced by APAPECAS is due to the fact that the members of the Association like the students of Le Plateau de Womey college” confided the president Jeanne Amadji Houessinon because they consider that “its students are the next generation of tomorrow and as such they must maintain them” she said before sending them this message “you are like a plant that must be watered so that tomorrow they bear fruit soft and pleasant”. For the president of the Parents’ Association of the General Education College “Amnesty International Benin says no to rape” de Womey, the word thank you would not be enough to express the emotion and recognition that rose within him. “If all the artisans of Godomey could act like APAPECAS, the C.E.G. The plateau would be like that of the Abidjan plateau,” he imagined.. He seizes the opportunity to invite other people of good will to follow suit..

Very moved, the director of the Ceg “Amnesty International Benin says no to rape” de Womey clarified the affable character of the Professional Association of Painters, calligraphers and screen printers from Godomey since the work carried out cost more than 700.000 FCFA and APAPECAS carried them out with their own funds. “It’s a salutary gesture that must be recognized at its true value,” declared Ali Babio Sarath, wife of Moussa.. She did not fail to emphasize the dual character of the work “not only will the paint serve as a covering for the wall against bad weather but it will give visibility to our college” she rejoices.. Representative Obed Kouton, local councilor in the district of Godomey, Jeannot Gohoun expressed the gratitude of the authority to APAPECAS for its civic and patriotic sense.

The moment was an opportunity for the members of APAPECAS led by, Secretary General Rock Louis Djibodé, to raise students’ awareness of the importance of studying. Using the messages written on the exterior facade of the college, the girls still knew that the nation is counting on them for its development… “Young men, be serious and don’t get into any trouble, be hardworking is written elsewhere”, can we also read. Students through the voice of their spokesperson, have made a commitment not to dirty the wall but above all to be the standard bearers of the new generation who will ensure a sustainable future for the Beninese nation and for all of humanity by referring to the messages conveyed by the images drawn on the college wall. The general supervisor of the CEG Le Plateau de Womey, Noel Fassinou, is also committed to monitoring this achievement of the Professional Association of Painters, calligraphers and screen printers from Godomey.
