All that was missing was this line on his rich CV. That of Full Professor of English-speaking African Literature in the Universities of Cames. The Teacher-Researcher at the University of Abomey-Calavi, Célestin Gbaguidi, was elevated to this rank on Friday 28 July 2023, at the end of the deliberation of the 45th  session of the African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education (LEGS).

Sept (07) doctoral theses and around fifty Master's and Master's theses in English-speaking African studies. Professor Gbaguidi was also a member of a dozen juries for the defense of doctoral theses at the University of Abomey-Calavi in ​​Benin as well as at the Alassane Ouattara University in Côte d'Ivoire and at the Kara University in Togo. Deputy head of the English department of the Faculty of Letters, LANGUAGES, Arts et Communication (Fllac) at the University of Abomey-Calavi 2018 at 2020, on the political-administrative level, the professor took care of 2015 at 2018, the position of departmental director of Digital Economy and Communication for the departments of Zou and Collines.

Academic background

Célestin Gbaguidi was born in the commune of Savalou and more precisely Logozohê in 1975. He did his primary and secondary education in Bembèrèkè, Logozoh, Glazoué as well as Savalou. With a Series A1 baccalaureate in 1995, chose the language of William Shakespeare to pursue his higher education. It was therefore quite natural that he found himself in the English department of the National University of Benin., became University of Abomey-Calavi, today. He passes the license in 1998, obtains a master's degree in 2003 then the DEA in 2009. Guided by the thirst to transmit, Célestin Gbaguidi crossed the thresholds of knowledge and became a full professor of English-speaking African Literature. Célestin Gbaguidi holds a doctorate from the University of Abomey-Calavi in 2012. Au plan familial, the eminent professor is married, father of three children.
