Brahim Diaz elevates Morocco to the highest level of world football

Born in Malaga to a mother from that city and a father of Moroccan origin, Brahim Diaz has now made his choice. The Real Madrid player decided to wear the Morocco Atlas Lions jersey. The bold choice of Brahim Diaz to wear the Atlas Lions jersey only confirms the rise in power of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) on the international scene.

This is the first time that a player of such quality, having already reached a very high level (holder at Real Madrid), choose an African selection rather than European. Indeed, in Morocco, the Brahim Diaz file was almost a “question of state”. Walid Regragui and the president of the Moroccan Football Federation Fouzi Lekjaa have been working on this for many years, especially since the last World Cup in Russia in 2018 so that it can give this positive result. The choice of Brahim Diaz confirms that Moroccan football has since 2022 very strong attractiveness, result of the establishment of an important national development plan as part of the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
With this historic gesture, the FRMF now joins the ranks of major global federations such as the FFF and the RFEF. Diaz's decision also highlights the importance of the Moroccan diaspora around the world, a wealth that contributes to the influence of national football.
The Casa Blanca player will certainly celebrate his first selection with the Moroccan team which is playing two friendly matches scheduled during the international break in March against Angola (the 22 mars ) and against Mauritania (the 26 mars).
