Benin / PASDeR : Agricultural socio-professional organizations equipped

As part of the Rural Development Sector Support Program (PASDeR), the Swiss Cooperation through the consortium Swiss contact offered this Tuesday 13 October 2020, a batch of rolling stock and IT to agricultural socio-professional organizations in its area of ​​intervention. This endowment ceremony was chaired by the Minister of Agriculture, breeding and fishing, Gaston Dossouhoui.

Composed among others of 02 vehicles, 60 motorcycles, 21 projector videos, 04 copiers and computers at an overall cost of 143 millions F CFA, "This batch of equipment will allow the beneficiaries to carry out their mission with dexterity to ultimately increase the productivity of their sectors" suggested, Christiane Dehouè, Director of Swiss contact Benin. "It is a real pleasure to cooperate with Benin. Because cooperation between the two countries has lasted for more than 40 years. We are not a donor who stay in the office but we are a donor who participate. I hope that the beneficiaries will make good use of these materials ”, said the Deputy Head of International Cooperation Switzerland, Bjorn Schranz.

The Minister of Agriculture, of livestock and fisheries Gaston Dossouhoui praised the insight of the Support Program for the Rural Development Sector (PASDeR) who "takes concrete action by playing his score". "It remains for everyone to demonstrate their commitment to the development of the agricultural sector" he declared, while thanking the Swiss Confederation and all the effort "of the Swiss taxpayer to participate in the economic agricultural development of Benin". "In this difficult period, the technical device was supposed to help gain ground. Disseminate good cultural practices. So it should be specified, it is your duty to use these materials wisely to change your life and help reveal Benin ", insisted the Patron of Agriculture, from the breeding of the fishery.

While thanking the government and the Swiss Cooperation, on behalf of the beneficiaries, Djegla Demmon promises to make good use of it to achieve the objectives of the project.

Implemented in Benin since 2012, the PASDeR which is in its 3rd phase, covers 21 municipalities of the departments of Borgou, Alibori, of the Atacora and the Donga. It operates in seven sectors, in this case the corn sectors, rice, milk, meat, potato, onion and mango to bring to the horizon 2027, family farms, pastoralists and artisans to contribute sustainably to socioeconomic development with a view to reducing poverty in Benin.
