Basket Youzou Ligue Pro A et Pro B: The main axes

The Benin Basketball Federation will launch on Saturday 11 February 2023, the Youzou Pro A League from the ball to the basket. Construction of the high school, the Management Committee of the Professional Basketball League has published the regulations for the season 2022-2023.

ASPAC (Cotonou), ASPHALT (Parakou), Renaissance BBC (Cotonou), Moose Cotton (Porto-Novo) are the clubs that will host this competition for men this season. At the Ladies, ASPAC (Cotonou), Renaissance BBC (Cotonou), Moose Cotton (Porto-Novo) and BBC Energy(Cotonou) reigning champion will be at the front. otherwise, any trainer involved in this championship must hold a level 1 de FIBA. “To be affiliated with the World Association of Basketball Coaches (WABC) would be an asset".

Each team according to the management body, has at least 12 professional players per season including 6 of foreign nationalities. The League Management Committee will also check the copy of the contracts concluded with the players and the staff and the certificate of civil liability insurance.. From this new season 2022-2023, Pro A League fixtures, will be discussed only on the grounds and rooms approved by the Management Committee.

Youzou Ligue B,  new details on the composition

This is the new innovation of the Benin Basketball Federation led by its president Ismahil Onifadé. The Pro B League regular season is made up of two conferences (The North Conference and the South Conference). This competition, which is the second level of the ball to the basket in Benin, is open exclusively to sports companies with a minimum budget of one million CFA francs.. It requires that all coaches who will be hired for this challenge must hold an employment contract with their employer club..

Teams like Bosco Star de Parakou, Real Sports of Parakou, Eternal BBC from Porto-Novo and AOL from Cotonou will lead this men's B league. Each team will have 12 professional players at least per season including 6 as many foreign nationalities as possible. Playgrounds such as the Eya Center in Cotonou, Don Bosco Center in Parakou, IRSP of Ouidah and the 22 stadiums built by the government of Benin, equipped with basketball courts will be the courts designated to host Pro B League basketball matches from the season 2022-2023.

Note that the matches will be played back and forth in each Conference. After this step, the two best teams of each Conference will play the national play-off phase to designate the champion team.
